At Summitview, our mid-week, smaller-group meetings consist of two different types of gatherings. The first and third week of the month, our Small Groups meet as 10 to 20 (typically) people gather in someone's home. Then, on the second and fourth weeks, our Small Groups join together into a few House Churches. These are groups of 3 to 5 small groups that meet together in a larger setting for worship, communion, teaching, and sharing. While our Sunday morning gatherings are critical, our Small Groups and House Churches are the places where we really learn what it means to live the Christian life.
Below you'll find a description first of our Small Groups, then of our House Churches.
Much like each year is broken up into its respective seasons, our lives are made up of 'seasons' as well. And just as Spring is different than Summer, Summer different than Fall, and Fall different than Winter, the seasons of our lives are unique as well. Each has its own needs and challenges.
Because of that, we do all we can to make our Small Groups places that meet people where they are at in life, so we've chosen to focus our various Small Groups on the different Seasons of Life that exist within our church.
Below you'll find a list of each of the Seasons of Life that we serve. You'll see a description of that season (as we view it, at least) and a list of small groups that are focused on that stage of life. Please understand, you are welcome to be a part of any one of our Small Groups! If you don't find a 'season' that exactly matches where you are at, just find the place where you think you could get the most out of the group, the best place to serve and grow.
Feel free to contact any of these Small Group leaders listed below if you have questions, or you can contact us at the church. We're looking forward to seeing you at Small Group!
NOTE: We are currently transitioning to this new Small Group/House Church format. Because of that, we don't yet have all of our details for small groups finalized. Please check back here for updates or check with a pastor or House Church leader.
Twice a month, our small groups gather into larger groups called house churches. Why? As described above, our Small Groups tend to form around "seasons of life" and that's great, but we also want college students learning from empty nesters, young married couples learning from older couples with kids, the older teaching the younger. We even keep our kids with us during the meeting! House Churches also provide additional opportunities to serve on mission trips, outreach projects, and service projects.
Here are the details for our house churches.
